The Blessed month of Ramadan is here when families would get together at the time of Iftar to share a meal. Whilst it may be different for us this year due to the pandemic, we still have a lot to be grateful for. However this is not the case in the poorest slums of India and the villages in Africa. During these unprecedented times, Covid-19 has made it further difficult for families to go out and make a living during the lockdown. Without the basic essentials, families depend on donations and organisations so they too can open their Iftar together during this Blessed month. We believe that a child’s education cannot be taken care of without taking care of the family and that is why this year, Lady Sumayya will be supporting families in India and Africa who are most distressed and are on a zero or low-income source especially during the ongoing pandemic.
